FRANKFURT -- Sales of full-electric cars had strong gains in a German market up 8.5 percent to 184,112 registrations in January.
Registrations of electric-only cars rose 28 percent to 20,892 for a market share of 11.3 percent, data from the KBA motor transport authority showed.
Despite the growing popularity of EVs, Tesla's sales slipped by 7.5 percent.
Among brands that had big sales increases were Dacia, Mini, Porsche, Hyundai, Kia and Toyota.
